The restaurant located in Barcelona and specialising in rice dishes Cullera de Boix launches a new menu, which offers some finger food as a starter and a paella dish as the main dish.

Cullera de Boix intensifies the changes initiated this year with the renewal of the dishes on the menu within the three restaurants it boasts in Barcelona. The group has chosen to focus the offer on its specialty, i.e. rice dishes and seafood starters, as well as offering meat and fish dishes with the innovative touch of chef Xavier Matarrodona.

The menu consists of some thirty dishes, selected for the enjoyment of diners, with the best seasonal products of Catalan and Mediterranean cuisine in general. “We suggest you start with one of our most representative finger food, which allows you to sample seafood and tradition: cod esqueixada (salad), razor clams, mussels marinara, calamari and homemade croquettes. Then, we recommend you try our rice dishes, the hallmark of the house”, explains the group’s manager, Rafael Santos.

The restaurant has opted for a smaller but comprehensive menu to suit all taste buds. As starters it offers different dishes for nibbling, such as fried fish, Iberian ham shavings or Cantabrian anchovies, besides the traditional spicy potatoes. Speaking of salads, we should highlight those from the local soil: cod esqueixada (salad) with romesco sauce and Santa Pau beans, as well as the warm octopus confit salad with pepper and herbs. It also continues to offer casseroles, such as the sea and mountain dish with chicken and scampi, reminiscent of food from grandma’s kitchen.

T-bone steak and breaded monkfish

The menu includes four meat and fish suggestions each. The oven-roasted shoulder of lamb, the grilled steak to share, the cod snout confit with pisto (ratatouille), the Costa Brava-style hake and the breaded monkfish with sauteed vegetables should be highlighted.

Apart from the menu, suggestions of the day are offered, as well as a full counter with tapas and, in the case of the Cullera de Boix – Rambla restaurant (located on Rambla Catalunya), an outdoor griddle is already fully operational, which allows you to see chefs in action.
